Chic Garden Shed Inspiration!!!

I just love garden sheds that go beyond the everyday! Sheds that mimic tiny homes and can be used as outdoor getaways. The female's version of the "Man Cave". Ya, that is what I need.... This one above is over the top, but so amazing!

I love the roof on this one, so different, and looks french to me...adorable and small. Pot planting perhaps...

All white and open, I could sit there and have my coffee and flip thru my favourite blogs......Look at those amazing bunting banners, they are everywhere these days, so fun!!!

Oh my, this reminds me of victorian and is so sweet. I love board and batton and all that trimwork....hmmmm. My wheels are spinning here!

I really like this one too, it's simple yet elegant. I love the door! I could take a bit of them all and come up with my own....
Why am I needing such inspiration you ask? Well, hubs wants to build a garden shed, and I am the designer of us two, so I am on the hunt for the perfect design for us. I have the cutest door for whatever we build.
I can't wait to see what we come up with....and to show you!! Whatever it is , I think it will be perfect in the end.....
Keep posted for the end results in the near future.

CHIPPY AND HIP!

Can you believe these cast iron pillars were left here by the previous owners??? Duh! When I seen they left them behind I was beyond happy! They are gorgeous! I love that they look so distressed and some rust shows through. Can you believe there are two? I bet it was because they couldn't move them, I know I almost gave myself a hernia moving them around!

This hook is so cool as well, very heavy and solid! You can hang anything there....

This I adore, so pretty, and I found an orange candle-stick that compliments the brick nicely!

This is crystals on the outdoor chandelier you'll see below.....I love how the rain makes it age, the rust is pretty coming through in spots...call me crazy!! I have two of them as well. It holds candles if you want, but I think it's pretty as is.

Here is the full monty.... Just lovely!!! Do you like how things look as they age outdoors? Or are you the shinny new kinda gal???
Enjoy your weekend, sunny skies here!!!

Martha's Tree Bench!

I've been so crazy busy lately, sorry it's taken me so long to get back here.....

Finally got my Martha tree bench done. We used cedar wood, and I used BEHR Paint Plus Primer all in one, and I have to say it is great stuff! The first time I painted it, the color was a bit more yellowish, so I went back and had them re-tint it by adding more brown until I was happy with it. I think it looks better now....

I liked the way the brackets turned out....simple yet elegant!

Here is another angle...At first I had a ledge at the back close to the tree itself, but took it off, it looked too bulky or something. Yes, I am completely neurotic!!! But if it feels odd to me, I have to figure out why..... I think I got it, finally.

You can see here how it matches the house and garage trim.

Hope you like it.... now on to finish another one of my projects that I started....my bookcase, so close to being done that! Tell me what you think and about any of your projects on the go!

Delish Dish: Crumble and Thai

This cookbook was given to me by my hubby's nanny when we got married! It was old and tattered when I got it...I thought she really must worry that I can't cook and need to look after this boy.....well I have to tell you, it saved me so many times. It has the best recipes and so easy to follow. Its everyday things and if I'm thinking of how to cook something, it's always in here. She obviously knew something I didn't .....Smart woman eh!!!!

Well, I had a basket of Ontario Peaches that I needed to do something with, so I decided on a Peach crumble! So easy to make! Mya was my official de-pitter! lol.....

What you need:
Peach Crumble
Awesome ripe peaches or any fruit you desire
1 cup rolled oats..I always use more
1 cup flower
half cup of brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 quarter tsp nutmeg
half cup butter or margarine
vanilla to taste
dash of salt
Butter dish ,add fruit, combine dry ingrediants, add butter, mix until crumbly add vanilla.Sprinkle over fruit.Bake at 375 for 30 minutes. Serve warm! Enjoy....

I made Pad Thai for the main dish. It was so amazingly yummy and incredibly easy! I used a jar of Pad Thai President Choice sauce. Rice noodles, and mixed veggies . That's it! Oh and some parmasean cheese on top!

Don't forget the ice-cream on top! Doesn't it look good? Hope you try it.....

Shabby Fab!

I love this shabby chic ruffled pillow.I have been eyeing it for this chair I had recovered for my daughters room. Isn't it cute with the crown! I've been waiting to see if I find anything locally, but no luck yet,so why wait any longer!!!

Here is a shot of the ruffled skirt. I think it's adorable! I have this little old man do all my reupholstering...he is a sweetheart too. He comes and gets it, and brings it back to me, and with great prices as well! I've had this chair recovered twice now, but I've done others over and over too, since they are good quality. This fabric is white duck cotton. So beautiful!

Look at this ottoman! It is so versatile being white and I just made sure it is treated in case of dirty feet or hands. But I know, it will be recovered again someday anyways, so no biggie!
So, do you think that pillow will finish it off nicely ??? I'd love to hear your thoughts....

A sneak peak!

Sorry, I have been not such a good blogger this week! I've had to entertain my kids, and I was working lots of crazy shifts...days, nights, etc.....But this is what I've been up to inbetween ! This is the bookcase I've been designing and with hubby's carpentry, pulling together. It is a knock off of a Pottery Barn one, but much cheaper. When I'm finished priming and painting, I will show you how we did it, and what you need to do it yourself! I think it is turning out better, actually!

Today, hubby pulled out the big guns for this project I sprung on him the other day!

This is our giving tree! We have a few like it on our property, but this one has the swing and the kids climb it etc! So, I wanted this below............................................

Isn't is beautiful! This is from Martha Stewart. I thought it was so amazing, and is just what this area needs! So, right now, he is trying to figure out the layout, math etc......
Stay tuned!!!!
