DIY Bunting Banner!

I am in love with "Bunting Banners!" They are so fun and whimsical to me....anyways, they are easy to make either if you are a sewer, which I am not, so I made one out of scrapebooking paper!

My daughter is away all week at her cousin's...first week long overnight 3 hrs away! So, my other daughter and myself thought we'd welcome her home with a surprise banner in her room. I hope she likes it!!!!

Here it is close up...she's a tween ,so I thought she'd did the skulls and crossbones! See her name on there....so cute!

Doesn't look like paper ....does it!?! I think it turned out well and it took me no time at all. I can imagine doing them for all sorts of holiday decors
Here is what you need:

I took a trip to MICHAELS CRAFT STORE
Pick up your choice of scrape booking paper...it's heavy duty so, it keeps it's shape well
string
glue
ruler
pencil
scissors
stickers if you desire a personal message!
Cut out triangles whatever size you want, small or large
fold edge over string with glue on fold and set to dry!!!
That easy!!!!

This is the glue I used. Martha Stewart all purpose glue stick and it works amazing!!! Dries fast and doesn't show thru.
What do you think? If I was a sewer, I'd be making all kinds of these....but this worked so well and took me no time at all......
Hope Zoe likes her banner!

  2. I'm sure Zoe will love her banner! How fun! What a nice surprise to come home to. I love the paper idea. My daughter has made some with fabric, which are also easy to make. I may steal your paper idea and make some signs in my future vendor booth :).

  3. Hi Cindy - I love how nice your banner turned out and I'm sure Zoe will be surprised. I've been eyeing these for some time now on Etsy but your directions explain just how easy these are to make. The possibilities are endless, especially with all the beautiful paper available. Thanks for sharing. I hope your girls enjoy their first day 'back to school'.

  6. Awww, what a quick and cute banner. Did she like it?

As for the live signature, I asked my friend and she used MyLiveSignature. I didn't go through all the steps, but it looks pretty easy. Here is the link to where you type your name and then you can see what fonts they come up with http://www.mylivesignature.com/mls_wizard1_1.php

Not sure if you have to pay for it or not. Looking forward to seeing your signature!
