Shiver me Timbers!!!! My baby turns 6...
My daughter is obsessed with pirates! So today was finally her party...She had a blast and I'm sure the others did too. These were our loot bags and inside is everything a pirate should need. Very cute! We had the party at a place called,"PLAYSTREET", seems to be the happening place if your 5 or 6....fine by me!
This was my attempt at a centre piece....kids loved it...I had to dig into my halloween bin.

My garage in progress!
This is my garage....my husband and I are kinda like a design team! I draw it out and design and he builds it.That is what we did here....We had it put to paper and go through the legal hoops, but it finally happened. I love especially how it looks in the winter, the color looks very different against the snow and bare trees! We still have more to do and the upstairs will be a loft/apt, not sure yet! I LOVE it....we actually have cars stop and stare!
Here it is today, in the summer.Still need trim on upstairs windows, and lights, battons etc. I was wondering if I should add some orange color, to tie in with house.....possibly on side doors and upper trim detail! I will have to think about it as we go!!!
Reminds me of an old carriage house! Do you like???

My 130 yr old farmhouse in the city!
I fell in love with how pretty this old house was , but as you can see it needs alot of TLC. But we are in it for the long haul. We always wanted to fix up an old home, and the location is perfect! Great schools, close to work and nice neighborhood! I love the character and details.
Just look at the origional porch, we painted all the trim with really subtle victorian colors, really adds alot, before was just plain white!
Still need to do landscaping as it really needs more curb appeal.
The porch needs a peak, In my opinion over the door with some nice details, and I really want to add trim around the front door. If you have any ideas, please let me know.........My front door is called Super Nova by Benjamin Moore and I just love it...Purple, eggplant color, so great against the orange brick!!!!

La Belle Vie!
I had this vinyl lettering made by a local girl and I just love it! It really adds
something to the space. The M is for our Last name and the date was when
the home was built , as far back as we can find on paper. So, this is what I've
put up above the country farm sink.
"THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE"........for sure! I am grateful for all that I have.
What do you think? Can you see vinyl lettering in your future? I have initials
for over my girls beds....so cute!!!!

My Kitchen!
When we bought this old house I could see the potential in this 25x15 feet kitchen! It was a great space, but dated as you can see! Here are some before pics and some with the "in progress" going on.
This is from the view by the side door, when you walked in ,you walked right in to the fridge and as you can see the stove was beside the back door!
Can you say "UGLY"
Here is another angle , the far corner is where the kitchen is now! This kitchen had only 2 ceiling lights, which were huge fans....I dislike ceiling fans....so needless to say they are gone and we have lots of great lighting....
You can see the old cabinets here. This was the old island....

Below is the After.....
I am so happy with the way it turned out! We love it.....
This is my kitchen after ! We live in an old victorian farmhouse in the city. Around 130 yrs old. So, needless to say we have a lot to do here! The house has good bones and really is in good shape. But it takes so darn long and I'm not very patient, lol. Anyways, I'll try and post some before photos soon. We are still doing some finishing touches on this room, but overall I LOVE how it turned out!!!
I LOVE the island, it's so big and I had to have the microwave in it, as I hate seeing them on counters, and over stoves. Works well for us!!
I really LOVE the country feel and keeping with the style of the house, so casual, but pretty! I have something special for above the sink! Pics to follow......
LOVE, the stove, so awesome!!!! We are so happy to have gone with a custom builder as we would never have got everything that we wanted. Dove-tail joinery and wood, build to last and very good quality!!!
Hope you like it too!!!

Ahoy Matey!!!
I've been having so much fun planning my soon to be 6 yr olds "PIRATE PARTY"....She is no girly-girl! She loves to dress up and play, she is so creative and her imagination is amazing! Oh, to be 5 again!I found some free prinatable invitations online and they are so cool.(hopefully, I can post a photo soon) She was so excited as we went out and bought all the piratey stuff and ordered the cake! It will be a full on Pirates of the sea Party! Just to see her eyes light up, makes it all worth while! I wish though she could stay 5 forever....

Finally!
I've finally done it....I've always wanted to start my own blog where I can pass on my passion for beautiful things. I love the inspiration I have recieved from some of my favourite bloggers, and maybe I will bring some to you. Maybe this will take some pressure off my husband so he doesn't have to listen to me talk about things I love or want.(lol) I love the feeling of finally doing what it is you've wanted to, but have put off. It's a sense of relief really, of finally just getting it done, living how you want to. So,this blog is going to be of all the things I LOVE!!!
